Leading the way to productive play.
Tony Walsh, Founding Director of Phantom Compass

Alanna has had a dual administrative and creative role at Phantom Compass, managing workflow across the company's projects as Production Coordinator, and contributing valuable writing skills to the company's screen-based initiatives.

Alanna has been involved in television production since 1998. In 2007, she was accepted into the Vancouver Film School's intensive one-year screenwriting program, graduating in the top two of her class. During her Vancouver Film School training, Alanna immersed herself in a number of different disciplines through which she created a “spec” episode of existing series, Grey's Anatomy, that won a quarterfinal place in Creative Screenwriting's Scriptapalooza; bibles and an episode each of two original series, Resistance, an action/adventure thriller, and Dream Team, a teen animation; two feature length screenplays, An Academic Murder, a murder/mystery and Numbered Days; a thriller; a VFS produced short, The Wish, and several other shorts.

With Phantom Compass, Alanna has expanded her existing screenwriting skills into the realm of cross-media entertainment, learning about interactive writing and multi-platform storytelling. She has a keen eye for character and story development; she is highly creative and comes up with unusual, interesting ideas based on the framework of the property she’s working on.
